All of this started because my rose bush is in full bloom🥀I took about 500 incredible pictures and then needed to do something with them! Thanks again to the time lapse video in Procreate and allowing for roughly 20 hours of experimenting to be seen in 30 seconds. Obviously it was going to be turned into a seamless print and now that I’ve pretty much mastered that, I think it’s time to start layering the prints and then of course embellishing them as well. All in a day’s work for a maximalist. As an artist I find it difficult to follow directions or any sort of a way of doing something as directed. I am self taught at most things so learning the actual way to do something can be very enlightening 🤩in my quest to learn how to make an actual seamless pattern I took a course from Brooke@HappyfoxSupplyCo and in that I actually picked up some other skills that I didn’t even know I needed-such as tracing! I can draw just fine so I have never considered tracing as a viable method. But omg, In the world of digital art it is life changing to use the 8 trillion photos I have taken and translate them into images faster and better than I could do manually. Obviously I’m still drawing it( not AI generated) and therefore it’s not perfect, which I don’t mind the straight lines that are slightly curved or any of the flaws-even though I get to use all these amazing tools, in the end it’s still hand drawn👩🏼‍🎨 #digitaldrawing #artofinstagram #digitalsketch

I just discovered you can make things like this with the Freeform app on your phone🤯I had never opened that app before and this morning I wondered what it did😂well apparently it is fun AF 🎉

It’s all in the details….coming down to the end of a project turns into a continuous refining and last minute addition process. I’ve announced I was finished at least 4 times already🤨I’ve got another dragonfly penciled in and a bee as well still to add and I may in fact be done after that but nonetheless there’s not much more to do!

This is where we are leaving it at today👩🏼‍🎨still adding flowers, deepening the colors overall, and making it crisper and cleaner. Getting really close to being done and there’s a couple more elements I’ll be adding in to really make it pop🎉

Nobody gonna see the eclipse today in central Indiana!!!! They went extra heavy on the chem trails just now to ensure a full blockage of the eclipse!!! Just a few shots of my drive into work just now so in about 3-4 hours we should be at full cloud coverage…and just to note it started off as a beautiful, bright, crystal blue sunny day. Although I’m an artist and I wanted to dedicate this account to only art I cannot ignore what I see happening in the skies above me on the daily. The state of New Hampshire has already outlawed chem trails so it can be done!!

“B19” Mixed Media 12”x24” my 2nd attempt at using resin and it went much better👩🏼‍🎨I love how it seals everything in and gives it a beautiful glossy sheen. This piece uses a variety of beads, glitter, paint, and paper cut outs. The black frame that I found didn’t do my artwork any favors so I painted it an iridescent blue! On display now @thesourceindy

It feels soooo good to Procreate lol! My iPad has been full for at least 6-8 months and I haven’t been able to even open the Procreate app😢today I gave up and downloaded the Procreate pocket app onto my phone🎉🙌🏻👩🏼‍🎨💕

This collage is so impressive and I was fortunate enough to stumble across it! Looks like it’s made from tape and paper or magazine clippings on canvas board. Unfortunately it’s not signed or marked in any way so I cannot give credit to the artist but let’s just say someone’s got talent! It’s currently for sale @ Midland Art & Antique, Indianapolis.

I have the good fortune of having 3 Goodwills within a 5 mile radius of my home! Which means I never have to look far for some amazing artwork. I’m constantly surprised by the actual treasures that people give away, especially art!! Sometimes I have to put a little work into a piece by cleaning or repainting a frame, and sometimes I get lucky and they are in perfect condition, but either way I totally enjoy the hunt!🕵🏼‍♀️

“Sea Bees” 18x24 mixed media/resin. Years in the making…literally. Started as a painting, which got altered in Photoshop, then Procreate, then added embellishments to the actual painting in the form of shells, glitter, holographic letters, various gems, jewels and tiny fruit made out of clay which all got very nicely preserved for eternity with 2 coats of resin! Paper cut-outs. 20”x30”. I crafted the milkshakes at work for a display and once I took them down I added them to a sheet of fine paper and added the hearts. The paper is attached to foam board and now it just needs a frame!

Part 2-welcome to the continuation of the creation of this painting! This segment entitled “ultimate frustration or the joy of painting”. Usually when I am painting I have a visual image in my hand that I am constantly referencing so I get it right. In this case I’m painting from memory(since I just painted this mural and had to paint this image about 50 times). I’m also building this painting as I go. I did a rough drawing first but I’m adding additional elements as needed and altering the design as I go. I’ve been painting for 30 years and I still struggle with getting things to look exactly as they should but I rework my problem areas until I can find some satisfaction! And if I can’t I walk away and come back another day. That’s the beauty of paint…once it dries down you can always go back and fix what’s bothering you👩🏼‍🎨stay tuned for Part 3 which will be the completion of this masterpiece😉
